The Little Extra

In the book OUTLIERS by Malcolm Gladwell, the difference over a 10 year period of becoming a professional pianist and just being a amateur pianist and a music teacher was an extra 2000 hours. Broken down that is only 30 minutes a day. are you spending an extra 30 minutes a day on your talent??

The principle of the small and simple things is what makes the difference in ones lives. Notice I said an extra 30 minutes a day. How many of us are spending any time a day on our natural talent or ability? Odds are most of us are not spending any time or do not even yet recognize our uniqueness.

I believe there are 2 things that we should become experts in about our self. Number one is our self as a whole in our true'ness' and the five realms which is spiritual, mental, physical, social, and financial. There are literally hundreds of thousands of little extra things we can do to become our best self. The second is becoming an expert in what we are passionate about and naturally skilled in. Becoming specialized is the key.

The b side to the truth today is simple... do the little extra things and the gate will swing open wider in abundance. Get up an extra 15 minutes, arrive 15 minutes early, read for 5 minutes instead of not reading at all, make a couple extra prospecting call, ask a couple extra people for business, spend an extra 10 minutes on cardio, do the extra 2 reps in your work out set, and hundreds of thousands of little extra things that apply to you. This will create a better and easier tomorrow for you.

Disappointment of The Destination

We live life in such a way we set our self up for failure in hopes of a change once we reach a certain point in life. Such things as graduation, marriage, turning 21, kids, a good job, a vacation, retirement. It seems to me that the anticipation is the best part. Remember it is the journey that teaches us our lesson. It is today that counts.

We are stuck in a have-do-be mindset. We have tricked our self through a society perception that we must have something to become something. We think once I have money I will be able to be free. It is the discipline though that makes you free. Sure financial freedom is a huge asset, yet it is only reached when we have transformation today, not transformation after we arrive.

The b side to the truth is in order to use the power of thought and positive emotion we must take control of our life today! We must live and enjoy right now! We must become in order to have. The secret is a be-do-have mindset. We must believe it first. As we believe it with strong thought pattern and slowly include powerful positive emotion our desire grows to such a greatness that this thought begins to create again and manifest itself in a tangible form.

Ask yourself this question... are you intentionally becoming... or are you waiting to become?? Either way you are what you have chosen to be.

Confidence

How do I increase my confidence? 1. Start with gratitude for what positive energy, people, and tools you have in your life. 2. Increase your daily knowledge. 3. Increase the amount in which you serve others. 4. Train yourself to have empowering thoughts. 5. Study what you feel you lack and get specific. When you get specific in your studies it creates a specialized knowledge and creates an energetic conversation.

The biggest fear, doubt, and worry we have as spiritual beings in this human experience is that we are not enough or we do not measure up. So taking 10 minutes a day to purposely increase our confidence will empower your life to a next level and increase your productivity along with yourself worth. When your confidence increases you win more people over to create better business relationships, friendships, and family bond.

Worth!

The worth of a person is so great! No matter the person... they have something to offer you. So ask yourself... who have you been taking for granted?

Last night I attended the Chevelle concert. (My good friend Sam Whittier's band, I AM THE, opended for them.) As I am not much of a rock style of music guy I went to support my friend. As Chevelle came on the stage they played a great show... as I sat and watched from the balcony above at the crowd below... I noticed how much energy Chevelle had created amongst this crowd. Everyone was focused and the stage and lost in a trans. I realized how much influence Chevelle had on this crowd. And it dawned on me... they had been given a talent, they maximize their skill, and they shared it... not worrying about an outcome, yet playing because they were passionate about their music. And because they detached their self from the outcome, they influence many around the nation.

I realized those people in the crowd were after the same thing I am after, and it's happiness. I learned that happiness starts with our own self worth, and that through our talents we help others discover their own self worth. Just as others inspire us with their skills and talents... we too have skills and talents that will change others lives.

Each one of us as spiritual being are in a human experience with mortal limitations. Limitations that can and should be removed. The limitations of not being enough, of fear, of being right or wrong. Their is not two sides of a fence, yet only two directions of a continuum.

So the b side to the truth today is stop searching for right or wrong... and start searching for the better more efficient way. And remember those that have given you their love and have given you the opportunity to love. Be grateful what you have and stop wasting time on what you don't have or what you have lost out on.

Increased Happiness

Raising your happiness through physical exertion and meditation. It raises your endorphins and creates clarity and focus. Feeling bogged down?? Then take action and see your physiology change!

Everyone is so caught up in I need more sleep, I need more sleep. In some cases that may be true. In reality though our physical bodies only need 4 to 5 hours of consistent sleep. The reason why we feel we need more sleep is cause we are active in the wrong ways. We have cluttered minds and stress of life that comes from school, work, family, finances, and bad choices. We can choose how we react to the outcomes of our life and it will change our stress level. We can do many exercises that lower our stress because of the outcomes that have occurred whether as consequences or conditions that we have no control over.

Getting up even a half hour early will actually give you more energy than sleeping that extra half hour. Yet it depends on the activity that you do... take the extra time to be ready for the day and not rushing out the door. Take the time to meditate and pray. Take the time to read a book. Take the time to write in your journal.

Why in the morning?? It is when our vibrations in our mind are alpha brain waves are strongest. As the day goes by our brain waves shift to beta waves and are stronger by night time. It is a great idea to meditate for 15 to 20 minutes in the afternoon also because it will help strengthen your alpha waves and give your increased energy. Alpha waves give you a sense of relaxation and energy.

So exercise and meditation are great ways to increase your endorphins and shift your brain waves.

The b side to the truth is more action means more energy! More energy means more happiness!

Law of Specific Focus

We are trained to diversify ourselves. Think b side of that... think get specific and put all your eggs into one basket. the more you focus on something with energy and positive emotion the more skill and confidence you gain. Laser focus!

We are trained in school when we excel in math, to put more focus on reading because our math is up to par or above average. Yet if we would let ourselves excel in what we are naturally talented in; our life will be easier, happier, and more service oriented. We will do it because we love to do it. We will make a difference in the lives of others.

The b side to the truth today is impossible for a person in any industry to be great at a profession if he or she does not continually counterbalance his human life value and does not get specific and skilled in a certain realm of his business. We must become specialists! The key is become a rock star at what you do and what you are passionate about!

Here is the question you have to ask yourself... what drives me and frees me? What skill, characteristic, and/or ability do I have that comes natural to me? Don't know what it is... ask 5 people today what skills or talents you have that they wish they had... and listen... and write it down. People will tell you, they wish they had your skills.

The problem is because our true'ness' talent comes so easy and natural to us, we think that it is common and that everyone has that same talent... the b side is... you are one of few my friend!

The Hold Back

Feelings of frustration and confusion about our life or situation come from with in. it is an indicator that we are creating self-told stories and self-told lies. The difficulty sometimes in acting is finding the true benefit. Truly ask yourself what is holding you back inside.

A great way to do this is to break it down to each realm: spiritual, mental, physical, social, and financial. Usually it is a self-told lie in one realm holding you back in another realm and holding you back from personal progress.

This must be done in a certain way, without competition. 95% of us have the common fear and limiting belief. It is the fear of not being enough for someone else. It is the fear of not measuring up in the eyes of another individual or a group of individuals. It creates a a check list of having to be someone your are not deep inside. Not do not mistake this for abandoning the responsibility that must be taken on your own to have personal growth.. i.e. increasing your skills and talents. And the one we fear we do not measure up the most for is our fake ego self. The imaginary person in ourselves that we have created due to our perception of having to measure up for those around us.

Gain clarity through the small and simple principles and actions. Develop habits to just release frustrations. When you release your frustrations and detach yourself from the outcome; you become clear, focused, and purpose driven.

The b side to the truth today is simple. You are enough. You just have to listen to your God-Self, true'ness'. You must throw away the checklist of measuring up and start the checklist of what you already are. You are beautiful, skillful, intellectual, giving, child of God. You are you. You have a unique set of skills and abilities that no one else has. You have a specific reason for your existence and everything else is a cloud that blur's your vision on your true'ness'.

Friends become what you already are inside.
