Spring Clean... in my head?

“I experience a period of frightening clarity in those moments when nature is so beautiful. I am no longer sure of myself, and the paintings appear as in a dream” - Vincent van Gogh

Every spring the weeds start to bloom long before the vegetable gardens and the flower beds. Those who know a little about gardening (which is not me), knows that to be able to have a beautiful flower bed and a garden full of fresh vegetables, they must till the ground and clear the weeds before they can plant their seeds. If they plant their seeds into the weeds when they are already full of growth... the weeds will not allow the seeds to take much root and will suffocate the little seed.

Each spring we see yard sales, yard work, fresh gardens, and usually we find ourselves throwing out stuff from storage we never knew we had. Some people probably have things they didn't even know they have for the last 5 or 10 years and maybe even longer. What happens is these things create clutter and take up space. The more things and clutter, the more of a task and mess the storage seems to become and we continually put off that spring clean. Yet when we clean out the clutter, get rid of "things" we don't need or use, then we allow ourselves to feel a sense of cleanliness and accomplishment.

The B Side To The Truth is we must have regular spring cleans with our minds. Just as we find things as were cleaning out the garage, we will find issues in our mind that have been weighing us down and creating excess baggage we don't have to be lugging around all the time. Through writing, meditation, and silent personal time we can do a little spring cleaning of our mind to allow the seeds of our life worth living to grow. This will let our thoughts and dreams take root and bloom amazingly in our lives!
